PREDICATE ADJECTIVES FORMS USED IN FRONT OF NOUN

alike like similar
alive live living
alone lone
afraid frightened
asleep sleeping

A predicate adjective appears after a linking verb such as be. It cannot appear directly in front of the noun that it describes.
